Unexpected choices
My path into design was an unexpected one, but every twist and turn brought me here.
Funny, I'd first pictured myself in engineering or architecture, following the family's construction line. No real passion for it, just wanting to make my parents proud. But then, while waiting to apply for my course at the admin building, a university brochure caught my eye; Multimedia Arts. The name was new, but what I read just clicked – it was a fascinating mix of everything I truly appreciated about art and design.
Gathering my courage, I called Dad. I was ready for him to shut down my sudden change of heart. But to my complete surprise, he actually encouraged me to follow my talent and passion. That green light was an unexpected joy!
My Multimedia Arts degree was a wild ride. We covered art history, traditional arts, fundamentals, 2D and 3D, graphic design, video production, web design – the lot. But the graphic design electives really grabbed me.
When not designing
As much as I love working on design, I do have a life outside of it. I enjoy both social, real-world experiences – getting out and enjoying the scenes with friends and family – and equally thrive immersing myself in different worlds. Think restarting a life on a farm, collecting Pokemons, exploring a wizarding world, getting spirited away, or even getting isekai-ed.
Maybe we have something in common!
